About this deal

This spotting problem will still persist even if softened water is used during the waxing, but the sodium deposits in the softened water spots are easier to remove after the carwash process. Doing so literally cuts the task time in half and end up with better results since the pressurized water blasts contaminants off the surface effortlessly. The softened water is then processed through an RO unit to remove the sodium salts leaving the water essentially pure. A Race Glaze water filter uses a slightly different resin that doesn’t exchange anything, but simply absorbs all of the dissolved minerals in the water leaving nothing behind.

With proper settings, new resin in a 5 cu ft softener will provide approximately 6,750 gallons of soft water…assuming 20 grain hardness, 10% safety factor. Used the filter this weekend to wash and rinse completely all the motorhome at once left it to dry excellent perfect finish no water spots or streaking, completed the job in less half the time, used to take almost six hours. Its portability makes it great for both window cleaning and car washing, where untreated water can leave residue marks once dried (which is especially notable in hard water areas). The process of deionization removes all the minerals and will certainly produce a spot-free wash, but it’s impractical because of the expense for the home user. We recommend that a final rinse is performed at half mains pressure, just sufficient to create a wave of water over the vehicle, and should be able to be completed in around 45 seconds for a standard family car, little over a minute for a 4×4. Softeners and purification systems can help to keep your car wash running efficiently and effectively.

With “minimum salting” of 6 lbs per cu ft, each regeneration will consume approximately 30 lbs of salt.Come join the discussion about methods, materials, equipment, restoration, classifieds, troubleshooting, and more! I'm useless with a chamois and this not only means I don't have to struggle with one, it puts a lovely shine on the car.

So, it makes great sense to keep your car free from abrasive dirt, bird droppings, and sticky leaf sap that can damage your paint, But, when it comes to washing your car, is it a better idea to use soft water? A wash bucket gritguard wont filter out the fine granules of grit off your roof, you'd have to filter it through fine gauze to do that, but if you rinse off with rainwater, why bother drying off with a towel after anyway ?

Let’s face it, a car represents a significant investment, and the condition of the paint protects the car from corrosion.
