Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus—the great Shepherd of the sheep —through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Blue Letter Bible: Dictionary and Word Search for zera' (Strong's 2233)". 2011. Archived from the original on 2011-10-12 . Retrieved 2011-11-21. As did Adam, you and I personally entered the covenant path at baptism. Then we enter it more completely in the temple. The blessings of the Abrahamic covenant are conferred in holy temples. These blessings allow us, upon being resurrected, to “inherit thrones, kingdoms, powers, principalities, and dominions, to our ‘exaltation and glory in all things’ [ Doctrine and Covenants 132:19].” 4 As a blessing from God, and in response to Sarai’s faith, 6 she conceived in her advanced years so that the covenant would pass through her son, Isaac (see Genesis 17:19). He was born in the covenant.

In the Christian context, this New Covenant is associated with the word ' testament' in the sense of a 'will left after the death of a person', the instructions for the inheritance of property (Latin testamentum), [39] the original Greek word used in Scripture being diatheke (διαθήκη) [40] which in the Greek context only meant 'will (left after death)' and virtually never 'covenant, alliance'. [41] This fact implies a reinterpreted view of the Old Testament covenant as possessing characteristics of a 'will left after death' in Christian theology and has generated considerable attention from biblical scholars and theologians. [42] The reason is connected with the translation of the Hebrew word for covenant, brit (בְּרִית), in the Septuagint: see ' why the word Testament' in the New Testament article.

See Russell M. Nelson, “ Thanks for the Covenant” (Brigham Young University devotional, Nov. 22, 1988), 4, speeches.byu.edu. Jesus represented the foundation of the temple as well, 1 Peter 2:4-8 (Compare Isa 28:16, Ps 118:22)

The Mosaic covenant is referred to in a number of places in the Quran [43] [44] [45] [46] as a reminder for the Jews, of whom two tribes inhabited Medina at the time of Muhammad. The verses also mention particular commandments of the Decalogue and, in God's words, admonishes the Jews for being insolent about it and displaying violence against the prophets – a group of them they called liars, and other prophets among them they killed – [Quran 4:155], [ 5:70] even though they agreed to keep them at the time the covenant was made. Jesus provides the water of life, John 4:13, 14 (Compare the laver Ex 30:17-21. See also 1 Cor 6:11) Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an everlasting covenant, our Lord Jesus,

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Isaac and Rebekah’s son Jacob was born in the covenant. In addition, he chose to enter of his own accord. As you know, Jacob’s name was changed to Israel (see Genesis 32:28), meaning “let God prevail” or “one who prevails with God.” 7 Jesus is now seated on the eternal throne in heaven at the right hand of God, Matt 26:64, Mark 14:62, 16:19, Luke 22:69, Acts 2:33, 7:55-56 (standing), Rom 8:34, Eph 1:20, Col 3:1, Heb 1:3, 8:1, 10:12, 12:2, 1 Peter 3:22. See also Ps 110:1, Matt 22:44, Mark 12:36, Acts 2:34, Heb 1:13, Rev 5. Thus, Jesus fulfilled the Davidic covenant. Once we make a covenant with God, we leave neutral ground forever. God will not abandon His relationship with those who have forged such a bond with Him. In fact, all those who have made a covenant with God have access to a special kind of love and mercy. In the Hebrew language, that covenantal love is called hesed (חֶסֶד). 3In the OT, most (not all) references to a covenant are to the Israelite covenant as set out in Ex 19-23, parts of Leviticus and the book of Deuteronomy. This covenant, among other things was a covenant of grace (see appendix 4), but it also contained the blessings and curses. But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare. God intended, and twice stated, that the Abrahamic covenant was to have been eternal as recorded in Gen 17:9, 13, 17). However, the literal descendants of Abraham ultimately rejected the covenant twice, which resulted in their dispossession – the first time at the hand of Nebuchadnezzar in the 6th century BC; and the second time in the first century AD when the Jews shouted, “we have no king but Caesar” (John 19:15, see also Hos 10:13.) This is effectively confirmed at the first Jerusalem council where the primary symbol of the Abrahamic covenant, circumcision, was abandoned. Despite this, Jews have always lived in and around Jerusalem from the time of Christ until the present day. Strong's 129: Blood, literally, figuratively or specially; by implication, bloodshed, also kindred.

The token/sign (Heb: “oth”) of the Levitical covenant appears to have been the unleavened bread at the annual festival (Ex 13:6, 9, 16, Lev 24:8). See Bible Dictionary, “ Peculiar”; “Hebrew and Chaldee Dictionary,” Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible (1984), 82, word 5459. Weinfield, M. (April–June 1970). The Covenant of Grant in the Old Testament and in the Ancient near East (PDF) (Vol 90ed.). Jerusalem: American Oriental Society. pp.184–203 . Retrieved 5 March 2015. The purpose of the Levitical covenant was to teach and inculcate the plan of salvation (Deut 33:9, 10, Heb 9:8, 9, 11-14, 10:1-3, Col 2:16, 17). That is, it symbolically taught about salvation by grace through the coming Messiah via His substitutionary death in the place of the sinner. Thus, the sacrifices, Levites, priests and High Priest became a type of Jesus in various ways. The Israelite Covenant was a covenant initiated entirely by God alone, to save Israel. God alone set out the requirements and blessings. God makes it clear that they were selected as the chosen people, NOT because of any Israelite merit, but simply because God wanted to. Deut 7:7, 9:5, 6, 10:15.Jesus was the light of life, John 8:12, 9:5 (compare the lampstand Ex 25:31-39, Lev 24:3, 4, Isa 53:11, Ps 56:13, etc) Genesis 17:11–13 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. Loving God more than anyone or anything else is the condition that brings true peace, comfort, confidence, and joy. I have spoken frequently about the importance of the Abrahamic covenant and the gathering of Israel. When we embrace the gospel and are baptized, we take upon ourselves the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the gate that leads to becoming joint heirs to all the promises given anciently by the Lord to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their posterity. 1
