The “Paul Daniels' Magic Language Memory Method” self-instruction language courses, for which Dr. Michael Gruneberg is listed as a co-author, were published in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s in the United Kingdom. The method introduced (through word association) a basic vocabulary ranging from 800 to 1,200 words along with a few very elementary notions of grammar. In addition, the series was, and continues to be, marketed under the “Linkword” brand name. The mnemonic videos are an excellent way to teach a foreign language to any student, but particularly those who are dyslexic. The visual component and the mnemonic are a powerful combination to help with memorization. It is also an enjoyable way to learn vocabulary and grammar. I’ve taught more traditional methods, and I believe this is the best. Adult learners can also benefit greatly. Why do dyslexic learners benefit from the Linkword method?
