the EXACT same thing happened in Malum: Part 1 by amo jones and it made me so angry i couldn't get over it, and then the same thing happened here. While their connection was undeniably heartwarming, it sometimes felt like Thayer did not fully embody his age due to his actions and choices, which made the age gap less noticeable than expected. I would give it one star if I did, and that wouldn't be fair. My rating wouldn't be because the book is poorly written. It's simply because I hated what happened.I had this wonderful feeling this would be bought in physical copy like I did Sweet Dandelion and put on my special shelf. I just can’t and I don’t think I’m going to read the sequel. I think I’ll try some of her other books to see if I find a love like Sweet Dandelion! I don't want to delve too much into this story seeing that this is a duet but I do have a few things I need to say. First off after reading this book, it should've just been one book only. This felt extremely unnecessary and the only thing that I felt was my blood boiling and utter disappointment. I was rooting for this story so damn hard and even though we got an HEA, I feel like it could've been in the first book as an extended epilogue. Nothing really happened and this only made me not like one of the main characters but I feel like everyone was trying to overlook a lot of things and make that person feel better OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
